Download Rock Festival 2013

Download Fest crowds
Crowds enjoying the rock in the sun at Donington Park

This years Download Festival boasted a number of big rock acts which brought in the fans - Slip Knot, Alice in Chains, Motorhead and Iron Maiden to name just a few. With the acts stating to play around 11am there was lots of stages and bands to choose from and rock out all day long.

Lemmy's still got what it takes!

Motorhead played a balzin set with loads of classic tunes that got the crowd screaming..nice to see them still playing hard.

Saturday night headline act was the almighty Iron Maiden..opening their set with a flypast of a classic Spitfire over the estimated 90,000 fans before launching into a selection of songs off their many albums opening with"Moonchild".

Bruce screams from the podium

Other acts included Blitz Kidz, Coal chamber, Hellyeah, Rival Sons and many more bands got the crowds rocking all weekend.

Another brilliant festival and now waiting for 2014 - good to know there is still a strong rock machine out there in todays world. With new strong act coming through and the old rockers still playing the future for rock looks good.

Blitz Kids are first on to blow the cobwebs away on Sunday morning

Rival Sons played a smooth set and brought a slower pace to the day

Sun, beers, fans and lots of loud rock - great weekend.

Brutality Will Prevail held nothing back in their great show.
